HUGGIN CARR0825 – the GREAT WHITE EGRET was seen briefly stood in the field to the north of the Carr; also 100+ Wigeon and 1 Peregrine (AM). Apologies for not putting news out sooner I had turned the volume on my phone down yesterday whilst at a BTO conference and forgot to turn it back up so didn’t hear Andy’s call at the time. presumably gone back to a drain in the area. Chris.

ALDERFEN1000hrs – 61 Whooper Swan, 1 BEWICK’S SWAN, 17 Grey Partridge and 25 Skylark in fields (AM).

TUNNEL PITS 1040hrs – 3 COMMON CRANE E. 1100hrs – the Cranes were lost as the moved off S well to the E of Tunnel  Pits (AM).

PRISON LAKES – 1 Goldeneye, 1 BRAMBLING west and 5 Redpoll west (AM)

PACKARDS – 250+ Pink-footed Geese, 1 juv. Marsh Harrier, 1 Siskin and 6 Redpoll (AM)

KILHAM BIG POOL Afternoon – 1 Whooper Swan, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, 2 Common Kestrel, 1 Peregrine and 10+ Fieldfare south (JR)

NORTHERN FIELDSGrid ref: approximately SE 734085 – Mixed plover flock of perhaps 400 birds, predominantly Golden Plover with c.50 Lapwings (HRK).
