PACKARDSMorning –  12 Wigeon, 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Hobby, 1 Peregrine, 15 Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin, 3 CURLEW SANDPIPER (arrived 0920hrs, stayed 10 mins then left W),  1 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 1 Whimbrel, 6 Snipe, 1 Ruff, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 Goldcrest (AM & JW).

PACKARDS1250 to 1730hrs – 25 Wigeon, 2 Marsh Harrier (1 cc, 1 scruffy ad-type male), 3 Hobby, 15 Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 2 SPOTTED REDSHANK (arrived from West, flew NE), 6 Greenshank, 4 Snipe, 4 Yellow Wagtail, 150+ Meadow Pipit (SM).

NEW PORTERS – 1 Green Sandpiper (DWi)

PACKARDSEvening – 1 MEDITERRANEAN GULL over with BH Gulls to roost, also Packards evening – 13 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin (AM). 2 Wigeon, 1 Redshank, 1 SPOTTED REDSHANK (W), 2 Greenshank, 1m + 2 juv Marsh Harrier (AM, JW and CN) 


The second Spurn Migration Festival

Following the great success of last year’s Migration Festival the second will take place next weekend 5th – 7th September.Tickets are now available and must be booked by calling Yorkshire Wildlife Trust on 01904 659570 or emailing

Prices: £14 for a day ticket, £21 for the weekend ticket and £8 for the evening lecture with delicious hog roast.

Tickets are selling fast so if you would like to go you should make haste.
