If anyone was out on the Moors not involved in the count particularly around Packards and you have any records of species or numbers not recorded here, we would be pleased to receive them via the comments box below.

River Torne (A614-Candy Corner) – 3 Mute Swan, 24 Canada Goose, 9 Greylag Geese, 1 hybrid Greylag x Canada Goose,
2 Shelduck, 18 Mallard, 2 Teal, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Lapwing, 2 Grey Partridge, 3 Moorhen (JWoz).

River Torne (Candy Corner-Wroot) – 3 Mute Swan, 13 Mallard, 2 Grey Heron, 4 Lapwing, 2 Coot, 1 Moorhen. Also seen out
hunting mid afternoon at Candy Corner 1 Barn Owl and 1 Little Owl (JWoz).

Gatewood Lane GP – 12 Coot, 15 Tufted Duck, 6 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Mute still sitting nest, 2 Yellow Wagtail collecting food (JR).

Tunnel Pits to Alderfen river & fields – 36 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 2a+2j Mute Swan , 55 Lapwing, 3 Yellow Wagtail (JR).

Alderfen to Wroot river & fields – 16 Greylag Geese, 4 Canada, all geese flew N to moors 1415. 21 Mute Swan, 2 Moorhen, 15 Lapwing (JR)

Packards North – 4 Greylag Geese, 19 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 11 Shelduck (assumed to include the 2 seen flying S off Kilham West earlier see below, 3 Gadwall, 8 Teal, 4 Lapwing, 2 Buzzard, 1 Long-eared Owl (presumably out hunting in daylight as feeding young and raining through the night), 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Whitethroat, 3 Reed Bunting, 9 Linnet (CN).

Ethelmoor – 56 Mallard, 1 Shoveler, 3 Teal, 2 Reed Bunting (CN).

Prison Lakes – 1 Kestrel, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Yellowhammer (CN).

Peatworks Field – 16 Greylag Geese, 1p Gadwall and 5a+brd 2j Lapwing (CCR)

Belton Moor – 1m+1f Mallard, 1m Shoveler (distraction display) and 4c Water Rail (CCR)

Stainforth Moor Drain East of Peaworks – 2 (1p) Mute Swan, 1 Mallard, 2p+brd of 3+j Tufted Duck and 1 Moorhen (CCR)

Stainforth Moor Drain (Peatworks to Dale Pitts) – 2p Mallard, 1p Lapwing, 2 Moorhen and 1j Goldcrest seen well away from the Peatworks Lelandiae hedge but fairly mature (CCR)

Kilham – 7 Shelduck (2S and 5E), 18 Mallard, 7 Teal, 1c Water Rail (SE corner of Big Pool, probably another called briefly on Kilham East), 3p+10 Lapwing and 1s Cuckoo (CCR)

Stainforth Moor (eastern edge only) – 1 Grey Heron, 1m Mallard and 1c Water Rail SE corner (CCR)

New Moor/New Porters – 8 Shelduck, 5 (2p) Gadwall, 33 Teal (mainly m but at least 4p), 5m Shoveler, 17 Lapwing (5p still harassing Carrion Crows), 70+brd 4j Mallard (mainly eclipse ms), 3 (1p) Oystercatcher, 3 Ringed Plover seen gaining height and leaving to NE, 1 Redshank , 1 Yellow Wagtail and 2s Cuckoo (CCR)

Packards South – 2 Ringed Plover, 4 Lapwing (dist/disp) the two broods of juvs seen previously not noted but probably some still around per behaviour, 1+ Curlew heard distantly (AM & CCR)

BOSTON PARK – 81 Greylag Geese, 43 Canada Geese, 11 Mallard, 13 Tufted Duck, 3 Moorhen, 17 Coot, 4 Little Grebe, 1p Great Crested Grebe and 6a+brd 4j Oystercatcher (TR)

DRAGON BACK – 2a+3j Mute Swan, 2 Canada Geese, 2 Gadwall, 10 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 7 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 3 Little Grebe (TR)

POOR PIECE – 9 Mallard, 1m Shoveler and 5 Teal (TR)

BADGER CORNER LAKE – 2 Greylag Geese, 11 Canada Geese, 6 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 4 Coot and 1 Oystercatcher (TR)

Tyrham Hall Jet Ski Lake08.30 – 8 Coot, 3 Mallard, 2a+1j Mute Swan, 1 Moorhen, 5a+1j Canada Geese (MP)

Tyrham Hall Fishery08.45 – 2a+7j Mute Swan, 2 Moorhen, 4 Tufted Duck, 4a+1j Coot, 1 Kingfisher, 11 Mallard, 1 Greylag Geese, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 106a+21j Canada’s (MP).

Prison Lakes09.00 – 7 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Moorhen, 1 Coot, 23 Greylag Geese, 2a+3j Canada Geese (MP).

Ten Acre Lake09.30 – 4 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Little Grebe, 4 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron (MP).

Huggin Carr – 3a+3j Mute Swan, 98 Greylag Geese, 30 Canada Geese, 4 Shelduck, 35 Mallard, 15 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 86 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 3 Oystercatcher, 1 LRP, 2 Ringed Plover, 26 Lapwing and 1 Redshank (AM)

Northern section of Dragon Pits – 1 Mute Swan, 1p Tufted Duck, 1p Gadwall, 1 Little Grebe (AM)
