 294  Wigeon
 7931+  Birds in total
Increase in total birds over previous months due partly to better

access to Woodward Lakes, pre-roost gull count, large flocks of

Pink-footed Geese, Golden Plovers and Lapwings using the area.

The reason for the + on many of the species is because there are

a number of lakes in the area where no access is possible and these

undoubtedly hold these species and the pre-roost gull count was only

mmade on Alderfen and it is known that gulls gather on many areas around

the Moors prior to entering the roost on Ethelmoor/Packards North.
