  1. From Boston Park Car Park – follow track from A614 to main car park. Go North along track past portaloos then take track to right follow past pond dipping platforms on both right and left then into Birch woodland and take track as it bends right and head east about 150m past the viewing platform overlooking open peatlands. After a further 100m or so there is an opening in the vegetation on your left go through this and follow the bund North with the Aircrash Memorial Site on your left. Follow this until you have an oblong ‘peat mire restoration ‘cell’ on your right, continue along the bund a little further and the bird spent much of today on the next cell to the north. If not on there follow the bund to the next cell on the right. If not there continue North until you hir the limestone tramway, follow it east checking the cells to the south until you reach the largest (fourth cell from the Moor edge) this is another favoured location but has also been seen to fly over the tramway onto the pools on Packard’s North.
  2. From Ten Acre Lake Car Park – Leave the A614 at Remple Lane at Northern end of Hatfield Woodhouse. Follow lane straight ahead as it becomes Hollin Bridge Lane, follow it right at Hollin Bridge Farm, turn right over the bridge at the Sewage Treatment Plant and follow the very uneven road past a farm on your left and along the edge of the former Lindholme Airfield, past a gate on your right advising no admittance by order of the Prison Governor, shortly after the road bends sharply left and about 100m after there is an entrance to the car park. Leave the car park on foot via the gate in the SW corner and follow the track through a series of ponds, turn left when you hit the main track. Walk about a quarter of a mile and take the first left through the lakes eventually you will come out onto the open moor at the western end of the main tramway. Follow the tramway as at 1. above or turn right down the first bund check the pools from here as you walk south. You should be able to see other birders from the tramway either east or south of your position.
