Andy Marshall identified the morning and evening Pectoral Sandpipers as different birds retrospectively from the photographs above. It is not certain whether the juvenile is the same or a different bird to the one found on New Moor on the 9th, though it seems likely that they were different birds as there were large numbers of birders on the Moors at this time that it is very likely that if the same it would have been seen on the 7th and/or 8th by people looking for the Baird’s Sand.
