Getting onto NEW MOOR/NEW PORTERS

Park by River Torne at end of Sand Lane, Wroot. Cross the river and follow track north until you reach the Moorbank Wood, cross the bridge over drain and immediately take the track to the right, follow for approx 1/4 mile then take the first track to the left (recently mown); follow this for roughly 1/8 -1/4 mile until you reach a T junction where the track you are on meets the main limestone tramway, turn right (East) here and follow a few hundred metres with birch scrub on the left. You will then see the first cell on New Moor  also on your left. It is a few more hundred metres further to the third cell.

I will be adding a map previously published on Twitter by Paul Thomas to the maps page showing the ‘cells’ where the Baird’s/Pec Sand may be found.
