PACKARD’S – a probable BITTERN W to E over the island @ 08:10, Ash Dump and beyond. A group of 80 waders took off soon after with only 23 Dunlin, 11 Ringed Plover returning and remaining in the area. 08.00-12.00 saw a total of 83 Skylark S, 182 Meadow Pipit S, 9 Goldfinch S, 2 Chaffinch S, 2 Greenfinch S, 1 Tree Sparrow S, 5 Swallow S. Also present c20 Reed Bunting, 4 Stonechat, 1 Snipe, 3 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 MARSH HARRIER ( juv f, 2 cy m), c 10 Common Buzzard. 2 more Stonechat on Moorbank Triangle with c25 Goldcrest, 15 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap down the green mile

PACKARD’S  – Evening – 2 Pink-footed Geese down, 7 Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 2 Snipe, 1 Kestrel, 1m Peregrine, 1 Tawny Owl, 1 Long-eared Owl. After dark many plovers were heard calling, flying west, and some came down (C Neale)
